Preface About This Manual This manual is written for professional system integrators and PC technicians. It provides information for the installation and use of the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8. Installation and maintainance should be performed by experienced technicians only. The SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8 is a high-end, dual Xeon processor redundant power rackmount server based on the SC822S 2U rackmount server chassis and the P4DPR-8G2 motherboard, which supports single or dual Xeon 512K L2 cache processors of up to 2.4 GHz at a Front Side (System) Bus speed of 400 MHz - refer to the motherboard specifications pages on our web site (http://www.supermicro.com/Product_page/productm.htm) for updates on supported processors.

Manual Organization Chapter 1: Introduction The first chapter provides a checklist of the main components included with the server system and describes the main features of the SUPER P4DPR8G2 mainboard and the SC822S chassis, which make up the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8.

Chapter 2: Server Installation This chapter describes the steps necessary to install the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8 into a rack and check out the server configuration prior to powering up the system. If your server was ordered without processor and memory components, this chapter will refer you to the appropriate sections of the manual for their installation.
