Preface About This Manual This manual is written for professional system integrators and PC technicians. It provides information for the installation and use of the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8. Installation and maintainance should be performed by experienced technicians only. The SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8 is a high-end, dual Xeon processor redundant power rackmount server based on the SC822S 2U rackmount server chassis and the P4DPR-8G2 motherboard, which supports single or dual Xeon 512K L2 cache processors of up to 2.4 GHz at a Front Side (System) Bus speed of 400 MHz - refer to the motherboard specifications pages on our web site (http://www.supermicro.com/Product_page/productm.htm) for updates on supported processors.

Manual Organization Chapter 1: Introduction The first chapter provides a checklist of the main components included with the server system and describes the main features of the SUPER P4DPR8G2 mainboard and the SC822S chassis, which make up the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8.

Chapter 2: Server Installation This chapter describes the steps necessary to install the SuperServer 6022P-8R/6022P-8 into a rack and check out the server configuration prior to powering up the system.
